Quantity Surveyor (Job Code 2433)

Quantity surveyor for the residential sector which will involve costing and managing jobs for new and refurbishments of buildings. Employment contract duration: As per expected project duration, 5 years of projects in the pipeline which can offered to the right candidate Working from standard office and on-site work only (no remote working), the right candidate must have good understanding of the industry, hands on experience, subcontractor base and positive mindset. The successful candidate will work under the project manager and receive on the job support and training.

Job Requirnment

 

Duties:

 

Estimator / Quantity Surveying

Review incoming tenders, specifications and contract documentation to analyse project risk

Manage tender submission schedule

Attend pre-tender site visits, and undertake site surveys

Obtain competitive prices from suppliers and subcontractors

Produce quotations/tenders

Prepare and deliver detailed, qualified, well presented tender submissions

Negotiate with clients to secure contracts

Strong communication skills to deal with subcontractors and Bank’s monitoring surveyors

Attend pre-contract client meetings, as required

Manage subcontractor packages & produce a programme of works based on the quote

Produce valuations, variations and final accounts

 

Quantity Surveyor Position Requirements

Previous experience of Quantity Surveying within the construction industry is not a pre-requisite but an advantage

Knowledge of materials / construction method

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

xcellent IT skills (Software: MS Teams, MS Office, Fastestimate or similar, Sage and Adobe Suite)

Proven record of working effectively with suppliers, clients and funders

Project Management Structure

Supplier cost with the materials worked out accurately ( Fastestimate)

Labour amount in line with work program per working day – MS Project Planner and Excel

Management cost to prevent cost over runs – Sage

Accounting for materials – Sage or Excel

Accounting for labour – Sage or Excel

Full and accurate project planner with monitoring – MS Planner and Excel

In-house monthly project valuation and certification for the bank – Excel

Accounting system on labour and materials from estimated cost to actual cost – Fastestimate and Sage

Work estimated timeline against actual progress of works – MS Project and Excel

Specification and actual job sheet to the contractor – Fastestiamte, Pageplus, pdf builder and PDF Job sheet creator

Monitoring procedure for construction designs amendments
